Oh, how I love sunny days. Even a sunny day in winter is better than nothing.
I woke up to see the blue sky outside my bedroom window and felt happy.
In the afternoon I took Mr Benny for a walk around the streets. He is still a bit of a pillock to take for a walk and has to wear his harness to stop him pulling on the lead. I start the walk with the lead on him and half way through I clip the leash to his neck collar to give him the opportunity to sniff the grass and whatever else dogs like to sniff.
If he yanks at the lead again I put the harness back to work.
The streets were so bright with the sun shine. People were out and about doing gardening.
I stopped for a coffee just before I got home and fiddled around with the camera trying out the Hipstamatic app. I have resigned myself to the reality of my age and no longer expect photos of me to deliver what I like. Not that I am ugly, but I am not young. And that is okay too. I would just prefer it not to be so obvious. Ha ha.
But the Hipstamatic app is good because it takes all sorts of different styles of photos and the detail is not so harsh.
Later on in the evening I went for a big walk with a friend. It was so cold outside that it took me a while to warm up and I had to wear my beanie for the entire walk. I think I under dressed a bit. By the time I got back home my legs were a bit achy from the cold.
We walked at least 20km and set a cracking good pace. Left the house at 5.45 pm and got back at about 9.15pm after stopping for a hot chocolate at an ice-cream shop.
Today was so delicious. It made me hunger for those warm and long days of summer. I had hung out the washing in the morning which is something that I have not been able to do for ages because of the grey skies and rain. I love the smell of freshly dried washing and I love not having the wet clothes drying over the heating vents in the house making it look like a Chinese laundry.
So tomorrow I think more of the same is planned. I do know it is sunny and then the following week it is back to grey skies. Better the sun shines on a weekend though.
I have been exercising very diligently. On Thursday night I did a body pump class and today I can still feel the pain from it. Tomorrow morning I will do another one. If you click on the link and see it in action I can assure you that the class is not full of pumped dudes working out. It is full of mostly women of various ages and the odd guy. It is, however, a great all rounder as far as toning goes and I sweat it out for the full 60 minutes.
The class is at 9.00 am which means I have to get there by 8.45 am which means I have to leave the house at about 8.35 am which means I have to get out of bed at 7.30 am to enable me to eat first - cannot exercise on an empty tank.
Oh, it is starting to sound all very hard.
I better go to bed.
Ciao

That body pump class looks like good hard work; an hour of that must be killer! Reading about your cold weather reminds me not to complain about our heat. It’s sunny today and supposed to heat up to 104 degrees here again. I love the heat of summer, but not when it gets extreme.
ReplyDeleteNow that I am not working for "The Man" anymore, I am starting to work out and live a healthier lifestyle. Amazing how stress can really ruin your life.
ReplyDeleteAs for your looks, I wish more women your age looked as good as you do, instead of trying to look like something that they aren't.
KYLady: We too get very hot summers here and I do tend to stay inside during the hottest part of the day. But the sunshine is such delightful thing that I do miss it when it goes over to your side of the world.
ReplyDeleteBruce: I had shingles the other week which I believe was related to stress. You must be enjoying the freedom now. Living a healthy lifestyle makes such a difference.
Trying to hold back the ageing process is like holding back the tide with your hand. Better to do the healthy thing and be nicely groomed. It's okay to get older. I mean, these days middle age lasts for thirty years or so.
Wow, girlfriend, the gray hair is SEXY!!! You look fantastic. XOXO
ReplyDeleteLindaLou: On a good day the grey hair is fab. On a bad day I look like a witch. Ha ha.
