Sorting

The carpet is now going down throughout the house. Not without some small problems which involved me having to rush down yesterday morning and choose that new colour. Anyway, all looking spiffy.

However, I am now slowly moving stuff back in and I realise how much stuff that has been accumulated over the years and it is very tedious sorting through it all. I mean, how much stuff can you have. If it were up to K he would toss everything in the bin. But I like to sort things out for the op-shop. I like to think that all items have a life span just that little bit longer before being turned into landfill. But really, after looking at the huge amount of shit that S has I am beginning to wonder whether K has the right idea. I also realise what a complete waste of money toys. Honestly, there are four giant plastic containers of indescribable toy matter that I cannot make head nor tale of. But I am making some headway.

Hmmmm, it makes me think just what a vile consumer society we live in.

My hair seems to have settled today - this is a good sign. I can leave the house without feeling ugly.

I used K's shower today due to the fact there is a large piece of furniture wedged into my bathroom. He has this fantastic dumper of a shower head and it is like standing under a warm waterfall. I am jealous. In my shower I have a super modern water saver one, which is good, but his is better. I stood under his shower for 20 minutes until I ran out of water.

Well, am going to have to plod on with all this.

Ciao

May 24th

Oh dear, all those days appear to have passed since I blah blah'd on here. Maybe it is because I had naught to say.

Anyway, enough of trying to justify my laziness. Friday, hooray, the carpet is going down and I will feel at peace with things pretty much finished. Everything is painted and lovely. I bought a fantabulous piece of furniture on eBay for the bedroom. It is from up in Sydney so hopefully it will be as nice as it looks. Otherwise I will have to suffer the teasing for buying site unseen from eBay.

Am still doing the vegan low fat thing and despite a few hiccups this week with tummy upsets, I am feeling better. Today I felt much more energetic when I got home from work and did some ironing and did not fall asleep on the couch like a couch potato.

Had my hair cut on Saturday. Without going into too much detail I think it looks like shit - fortunately it will grow and life will go on regardless of my bad hair days.

Took S to the dentist and was gutted when I was told he had decay on a baby tooth. No filling needed but we now have to watch it. I almost cried. So now I am back to brushing his teeth and flossing and all that for him as I do think he is far too young to do it himself. I feel I have let S down by not doing my best to take care of him. I have let him brush his own teeth and given it a cursory check and now he has decay. I will have a whole week of mother guilt now over this episode. S is happy to let me brush his teeth so there are no arguments there.

I need to really get back into discipline as far as my house and family go and also just looking after my small world. I can see I have been quite tired which has not helped. But since starting to take iron tablets again I think I feel a bit better. And once the house is finished I can relax.

I have just written an extremely boring piece of blah blah here, but I am still going to upload it otherwise there will be nothing to read at all. However, I have uploaded a picture of me when I was about 16 and seemed to bear a striking resemblance to Nana Mouskouri. They are my dad's glasses I am wearing - NOT mine.

Mother's Day

Not such a bad day today. S and I ended up going to Chadstone where he bought a book (Asterix and the Gladiator) and wandered around with me while I looked at some clothes. That was his mother's day gift to me - let me go shopping. Actually ended up buying a fab pair of jeans and a jumper from Jag which is such a good clothes shop. But I was happy to get out of Chadstone and, needless to say, so was S.

I was meant to have lunch and J and T's but "forgot" and ended up there at about 3.00pm to pick me mummy up. I am not sorry I was not there - boring - and I was tired.

I am out of routine still - cannot concentrate. Hopefully things will settle when all in the house is back to normal and the rooms are where they should be.

Mummy is back to QLD tomorrow morning and I will drop her off in the morning. I think she is looking forward to getting home. In fact I know she is. Nothing worse than being away from home for too long.

A busy week is ahead but all will be rewarded on Saturday when I am off to the hairdressers for a haircut. I just love going there. Think I might get there early and schmooz around the shops and have a coffee. I think Saturday will be one of those "me" days I seem to have missed out on lately.

Well, have to get things ready for tomorrow.

Sleep well.

Ciao.

Bridge Road Richmond

Wagged work on Thursday and headed off to Bridge Road Richmond with me mummy. Caught the train in which was okay - prefer to drive but was informed that parking would be at a premium. Anyway, as it was it did not take long to get there. It is years since I have been there. I forgot just how many clothes shops there were. Not that I did any clothes shopping as I do like to be on my own for that. But, I did come across the most wonderful food shop called Macro Wholefood - or something like that. It is a big food market totally devoted to selling organic and preservative foods. Absolutely fabulous. I bought a few bits and pieces of totally overpriced food. And, thankfully, I believe they have an outlet in Blackrock - which I will try to go to.

Pretty busy today at work. Am now doing Project Management on jobs and it is very time consuming and fiddly. Lots of things to organise and co-ordinate but it is nice to be out of my comfort zone and allows me to refocus and build on my skill database (that sounded good didn't it).

Saturday was one of those days for cleaning. It took me three hours to completely clean on room of dust - empty out the cupboards and reclean and I have still not finished. We picked the carpet - a rather unpopular olive green brown with the dubious name of Cattail. But I love it.

Quite a few other things I need to update on, but I am a bit out of sorts so I guess this is better than nothing.

So today is Mother's Day. K has just gone off for a drive and S is still fast asleep. Not sure what S and I will be doing yet as K is doing a music job all day. I am meant to go around to my brother's place for Mother's Day as my mum is there, but I really do not feel like it. His inlaws are there and they are, whilst very nice, really boring. Also, there is NEVER anything that I can eat there except maybe fruit. I would rather go to the pics with S or something. Maybe go to Border's and get some books. I don't know. I hate being oblige to do things.

Well, time for a stretch. I will put the kettle on and have a quiet cup of tea on my own. Now, that to me is a treat.

Enjoy your day.

Ciao
